Polypropylene

Charpak manufactured PP packaging utilises blended PP plastics.

The softening point of PP is 154°C, therefore conventional oven ready meals [cooked at 180°C by end users] are unsuitable for manufacture in PP.

·        Copolymer PP is best used for freezer proof products, and can be blast frozen.  This PP is opaque and soft when heated.

·        Homopolymer PP is a rigid PP, and is best recommended for microwaveable use.

·        Metalsine Homopolymer PP is unsuitable for use in frozen temperatures and most effective for microwaveable products.

Charpak will recommend the blend ratio best suited for our client requirements as part of the design and technical brief.

PP is also available in any colour specified, however these carry minimum order quantities.
